MERIBAH @ REPHIDIM THE MIRACLE OF WATER FROM THE ROCK
Upon arriving at Rephidim, the Israelites found there was no water to drink. This led to intense complaints and accusations against Moses, with the people questioning whether God was truly among them. Fearing for his safety, Moses called out to God for help. God instructed Moses to strike a specific rock at Horeb with his staff, and when Moses did so, water miraculously flowed from the rock, providing for the people’s needs. Moses named the place Massah (“testing”) and Meribah (“quarreling”) because of the Israelites’ contentious attitude and their testing of God’s presence
